About Me

My name is Lindsay and I am a 34 year old mother of two, a two year old boy and a five year old girl.

For the first 3 years of my daughter’s life I was a working parent juggling the demands of working full time and running a home with some assistance from my Husband!! When my son arrived I decided that I needed a break from my demanding job working as a Garment Technologist for a famous supermarket and spend some quality time with both my children.

I quickly realised that being at home with my children and their friends was a very rewarding position in society to have. I can honestly say that no two days are the same and children never cease to amaze me.

It was time to take a new career path and so I investigated two options for a new career, midwifery and childcare. After much soul searching I decided that childcare was the path that I should follow. I enrolled in the Introduction to Childminding Practice and started to attend college one night a week. I enjoyed being back in a learning environment and hearing other people’s views of childcare that they had experienced.

I passed my ICP course and applied to Ofsted for my registration certificate. In September 2005 I gained my Ofsted registration and joined the National Childminding Association along with the Milton Keynes Childminding Association. I plan to continue attending courses that will expand my childcare education.

My aim for the children is to have lots of fun whilst learning. Children's independence is always encouraged, no matter how young they are. I always involve all age groups in activities as much as possible.

My last Ofsted inspection was August 2006; I received a pleasing ‘Good’ grade, my next inspection will be August 2009. This states that my childcare setting above average, grades used by Ofsted are poor/satisfactory/good/outstanding. If you wish to view a copy of my Ofsted report please contact me.
