Toy And Activity Policy
I have a variety of toys available these include a toy kitchen, play food, garage, push and pull cars, pushchairs and other dolls accessories. These are just a few toys available, I have lots of other resources but there are too many to list. I am a member of Milton Keynes toy library, and the Milton Keynes Play Association including their Scrap store.
I encourage children to choose what they would like to play with and I have some toys in easy reach of the children. This helps them to gain independence. Activities may vary on the season and weather. We will be playing outside in the garden a lot more in the summer and we will also be going on trips to park. We will still play outside in the winter but only if the weather permits. In the garden I have a football goal, slide, small kangaroo climbing frame, trampet, sandpit and during good weather a small bouncy castle.
I promote equal opportunity so children are allowed to play with whatever they want, so it is okay if a boy wants to play with dolls but he will never be forced to play with them if he does not want to.
I aim to buy books that have a non discriminatory message and include people from all different spectrums of society. We also visit Bletchley or Westcroft library for story time once a week. I also set time aside for a story every day, but children can choose books throughout the day.
We will also do plenty of singing and dancing at home, as well as weekly visits to a local music and movement group.
All equipment and toys are safety checked and have relevant safety marks.
Please tell me if you have any suggestions for play or any favourite toys your child likes.
